Thanks to the cultural agreement between Austria and France, an Austrian curriculum, in German mother tongue, is offered as additional tuition at the LFV. Compulsory for Austrian pupils, it is also open to non-Austrian children.
Mother tongue German at the LFV
The Vienna Directorate of Education provides LFV with around fifty teachers who teach German as a mother tongue, Austrian history and geography and religion according to the official curriculum of the Austrian Ministry of Education, Science and Research.

- Nikola Salmi : from École Maternelle (Kindergarten) to École Élémentaire (Primary School — CM1).
- Sabrina Kadlecek : from CM2 (Primary School) to last year High School Terminale.
COMPLEMENTARY MATURA AND FRENCH BACCALAUREAT
Pupils who have completed the Austrian curriculum in German as a native language throughout their schooling can also take the additional Austrian Matura in addition to the French baccalauréat.

The partnership with the Austrian Education Directorate (Bildungsdirektion) and the Austrian native language teaching firmly anchor the Lycée Français de Vienne in the Viennese educational landscape, offering all pupils the best possible level of teaching of German as a native language.
