Thanks to the cul­tur­al agree­ment between Aus­tria and France, an Aus­tri­an cur­ricu­lum, in Ger­man moth­er tongue, is offered as addi­tion­al tuition at the LFV. Com­pul­so­ry for Aus­tri­an pupils, it is also open to non-Aus­tri­an children. 

Mother tongue German at the LFV

The Vien­na Direc­torate of Edu­ca­tion pro­vides LFV with around fifty teach­ers who teach Ger­man as a moth­er tongue, Aus­tri­an his­to­ry and geog­ra­phy and reli­gion accord­ing to the offi­cial cur­ricu­lum of the Aus­tri­an Min­istry of Edu­ca­tion, Sci­ence and Research.

  • Niko­la Sal­mi : from École Mater­nelle (Kinder­garten) to École Élé­men­taire (Pri­ma­ry School — CM1).
  • Sab­ri­na Kadle­cek : from CM2 (Pri­ma­ry School) to last year High School Terminale.

COMPLEMENTARY MATURA AND FRENCH BACCALAUREAT

Pupils who have com­plet­ed the Aus­tri­an cur­ricu­lum in Ger­man as a native lan­guage through­out their school­ing can also take the addi­tion­al Aus­tri­an Matu­ra in addi­tion to the French baccalauréat.

THE HIGHEST POSSIBLE STANDARD OF GERMAN NATIVE LANGUAGE TEACHING

The part­ner­ship with the Aus­tri­an Edu­ca­tion Direc­torate (Bil­dungs­di­rek­tion) and the Aus­tri­an native lan­guage teach­ing firm­ly anchor the Lycée Français de Vienne in the Vien­nese edu­ca­tion­al land­scape, offer­ing all pupils the best pos­si­ble lev­el of teach­ing of Ger­man as a native language.
