THE SCHOOL FOR THE YOUNGEST ONES: FROM 3 TO 6 YEARS OLD

For chil­dren aged 3 to 6 yearsThe École Mater­nelle du Lycée français de Vienne offers a teach­ing pro­gramme focused on lan­guage devel­op­ment in French and Ger­man (from oral to writ­ten), social­i­sa­tion and auton­o­my. It guar­an­tees a reg­u­lar mon­i­tor­ing of the learn­ing process, and a sup­port that is as close as pos­si­ble to the edu­ca­tion­al needs of the children.

EDUCATIONAL OBJECTIVES

The aim of the École Mater­nelle pro­gramme is to devel­op chil­dren’s motor, sen­so­ry, rela­tion­al and intel­lec­tu­al skills.

The École Mater­nelle is an essen­tial prepa­ra­tion for entry into the first grade.

AN IDEAL SETTING FOR THE CHILDREN’S GROWTH AND DEVELOPMENT

The École Mater­nelle offers chil­dren the oppor­tu­ni­ty to evolve in a mul­ti­cul­tur­al and plurilin­gual envi­ron­ment. It wel­comes chil­dren of some 40 dif­fer­ent countries.

Super­vised by a teacher and a kinder­garten assis­tant, chil­dren enjoy

  • well-equipped class­rooms,
  • two large gyms
  • an edu­ca­tion­al kitchen
  • a library with a large selec­tion of books in French and German
  • an out­door playground.

Locat­ed oppo­site the Heili­gen­städter Park in Vien­na’s 19th dis­trict, the Kinder­garten enjoys a pleas­ant, green setting.

Open­ing hours

The school wel­comes chil­dren from 8.30 a.m. to 3.30 p.m. and offers a child­care ser­vice from 7.45 a.m. until 5 p.m.

Lunchtime

The Lycée’s restau­rant ser­vice pro­vides all pupils with a qual­i­ty meal for lunch.

The nurs­ing station

A nurse is also on duty every day.

Bus ser­vice

Every day, a bus ser­vice, known as the navette, pro­vides a con­nec­tion between the École Mater­nelle and the Liecht­en­stein site of the Lycée (jour­ney time of approx­i­mate­ly 15 min­utes) and anoth­er one between the École Mater­nelle and the UN site.
