Four schools in one 

The Lycée Français de Vienne, as an insti­tu­tion, con­sists of 4 “schools”:

• The École Mater­nelle, the Kinder­garten for pupils aged 3–6 years 
• The École Élé­men­taire, the Ele­men­tary School, for pupils aged 6–10 years
• The Col­lège, the Mid­dle School for pupils aged 10–15 years
• The Lycée, the High School for pupils aged 15–18 years 

The edu­ca­tion­al struc­ture of the Lycée Français de Vienne reflects a com­pre­hen­sive school­ing in the French Nation­al Edu­ca­tion system.

Teaching continuity

Thus, a child can start, con­tin­ue and fin­ish his or her edu­ca­tion at the Lycée Français de Vienne, or in any oth­er school in France cor­re­spond­ing to his or her lev­el, or in one of the 543 schools of the Agence pour l’En­seigne­ment Français à l’É­tranger locat­ed in 138 countries. 

Early plurilingualism

The lan­guages learnt by all pupils are French and Ger­man from kinder­garten with Eng­lish from CM1.

The Lycée Français de Vienne applies the cur­ric­u­la of the French Min­istry of Edu­ca­tion for its class­es in French and the cur­ric­u­la of the Aus­tri­an Fed­er­al Min­istry of Edu­ca­tion, Sci­ence and Research for its class­es in native German.
