Orchestre et Choeur des Lycées français du Monde
The Orchestre et Choeur des Lycées Français du Monde (OCLFM) is a flagship organisation within the AEFE school network, bringing together students, instrumentalists and choristers of different ages and nationalities in a joint effort to collaborate on a major artistic project.
A true link between continents, multicultural, multilingual and francophone, the Orchestra and Choir of French Schools around the World is emblematic of what the educational project supported by the AEFE represents.
Let the music play!
Pupils from French schools around the world, 70 instrumentalists from years 6 to 13 and 40 choristers from years 4 to 13, from every continent, come together in an orchestra and a choir for a series of rehearsals and a final concert! The adventure began in 2015, and each school year becomes a new musical season. The idea came from a music teacher at the French Lycée in Madrid: Adriana Tanus directs these ensembles that are united by French and music.
The project places a strong emphasis on choral singing, which is an important pedagogical lever for language learning.
In the 2024–2025 school year, the OCLFM will be in Lisbon, Portugal, from 3 to 14 April, hosted by the Lycée français Charles Lepierre de Lisbonne.
