EDUCATIONAL STRUCTURE
Quatre écoles en une
The Lycée Français de Vienne is an educational institution composed of four distinct ‘schools’:
- École Maternelle (Kindergarten) for pupils aged 3 to 6
- École Élémentaire (Primary School) for pupils aged 6 to 10
- Collège (Middle School) for pupils aged 10 to 15
- Lycée (High School) for pupils aged 15 to 18.
The educational structure of the Lycée Français de Vienne reflects the general curriculum of the French National Education System.
Educational Consistency
This means that children can begin, continue and complete their education at the Lycée Français de Vienne, at any other school in France corresponding to their level, or at one of the 600 schools belonging to the French Agency for Education Outside France, located in 139 countries.
Early Multilinguism
All pupils are required to learn French and German from nursery school onwards, with English added from Year 5 onwards.
French and Austrian school curricula
The Lycée Français de Vienne follows the French Ministry of Education’s curriculum for French lessons and the Austrian Federal Ministry of Education, Science and Research’s curriculum for Austrian lessons in native German.
