Team spirit and the discovery of new disciplines.

The Sports Association (AS) is a space where middle and high school students can engage in various physical activities outside of mandatory PE classes. Training sessions are supervised by PE teachers, who organize practices and accompany teams during school competitions. Students commit to regular participation.

The AS promotes team spirit, respect for rules, and the discovery of new disciplines. It also enriches school life by fostering moments of sharing and camaraderie among students.

Each year, the AS participates in numerous events, both in Vienna as part of Austrian school competitions and across Europe—and sometimes even worldwide—for competitions organized within the AEFE network.

2025/2026 Activity Schedule

• Monday: Badminton (Grades 10–12) – Mr. Lahaye

• Tuesday: Multi-sports (Grades 6–8) – Mr. and Mrs. Garabedian

• Thursday: Multi-sports (Grades 9–12) – Mr. Larrive

Training sessions take place from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.
Spots are limited. An informational meeting is held for each activity at the beginning of the school year. PE teachers announce the dates of these meetings during the first PE classes and on the gymnasium bulletin board.

Events Organized by the AS

The Sports Association participates in several competitions each year, allowing students to proudly represent the school!

• Badminton Teams: High school students compete in the Schülerliga Championships in Vienna, with the opportunity to qualify for national finals.
  
  

  • Since its opening, the badminton section has regularly participated in the Austrian National Championships in multiple categories.

  • In 2023, the high school team secured 3rd place in the finals in Salzburg.

  • In 2025, the middle school team achieved an honorable 5th place, and the high school team placed 4th in Kitzbühel. The next edition will be in 2027.

• AEFE Network Events: The AS participates in several multi-sport competitions:
  
  

  • Danube Games: A competition for 6th-grade students between schools in Budapest, Bratislava, and Vienna. It serves as an introduction to AEFE network competitions.

  • ZECO Games: For 8th-grade students, this competition brings together schools from Central and Western Europe. Previous editions were held in Zurich and Tbilisi.

  • International Youth Games (JIJ): Reserved for 10th-grade students, this is a major AEFE competition organized globally. In the 2024 Athens edition, the school achieved 3rd place—a remarkable accomplishment.

  • Road Running Project: Launched last year, this initiative allows elementary to high school students, as well as adults (school staff or parents), to participate together under the school’s colors in races held in Vienna. Many participants laced up their running shoes for the Vienna Night Run in September and the mini-races of the Vienna Marathon in April.

  • School Cross-Country Race: Every spring, the school’s cross-country race is a highly anticipated event for all students from 1st to 9th grade. Students push their limits to give their best performance. Our mascot is eagerly awaited by the youngest participants!

  • Modern Pentathlon: Since 2023, the AS has been actively involved in Austrian modern pentathlon competitions, particularly excelling in laser run. Several students have won Austrian Championship titles in various categories.
