At the heart of the Lycée Français de Vienne, our primary school welcomes 650 pupils aged 6 to 11 in a stimulating environment where each child is guided in building their fundamental learning skills.
A plurilingual and multicultural environment
Our primary school considers the benefits of pluriilingualism to be a major asset for our pupils' future. From CP, Year 1, onwards, children grow up in a diverse linguistic and cultural environment that allows them to develop their French, German and English skills naturally.
This gradual immersion not only promotes the acquisition of solid language skills, but also open-mindedness and the ability to navigate easily between different cultures.
We implement the French Ministry of Education's curriculum for subjects in the French language and the Vienna Bildungsdirektion's curriculum for subjects in the Austrian German language.
Progressive learning adapted to each child
Our educational approach focuses on the individual pupil. Our teaching teams offer differentiated teaching that respects the pace and needs of each child.
From CP (first grade) to CM2 (fifth grade), learning is built up gradually and consistently, allowing each child to consolidate what they have learned while taking on new challenges adapted to their level. This caring and demanding approach enables all our pupils to develop their self-confidence and their love of learning.
Engaging and meaningful educational projects
Learning takes on its full meaning when it is part of concrete and motivating projects. Throughout the year, our primary school offers interdisciplinary projects that give meaning to learning: scientific, cultural, artistic, civic and solidarity projects. These experiences allow pupils to apply their knowledge in real-life situations, develop their creativity and critical thinking, while making connections between different subjects.
Educational continuity from kindergarten to middle school
Our primary school is part of a dynamic of educational continuity within our institution. Close ties with the kindergarten upstream and the middle school downstream ensure smooth and secure transitions for pupils.
