The CM2B on stage

What a trip through time!

The Lycée Français de Vienne Around the World in 80 Years, imagined and performed by Delphine Dutertre’s CM2B students, offered the audience a moment that was both moving and inspiring. Through an original, creative, and remarkably well-crafted performance, the students paid a heartfelt tribute to the 80-year history of our school.

Everything begins in 1946. On stage, a single object captures the audience’s attention: a suitcase. Throughout the performance, symbolic objects emerge from it, each telling a part of the school’s story. Projected onto a screen, they become witnesses to the key milestones that have shaped the life of our school community.

With great talent, the students revisited significant moments in the history of the Lycée Français de Vienne: its founding by General Béthouart in the aftermath of the Second World War, the evolution of student life spaces such as the school cafeteria, the arrival of computers in the classroom, and the collective experience of the COVID period. Beyond these events, however, it was above all the spirit of our school that they succeeded in bringing to life.

With sensitivity and enthusiasm, the young performers highlighted the values that form the foundation of our educational mission: solidarity, tolerance, openness to others, respect for differences, and living together in harmony. They also celebrated the memories that shape student life: playground games, moments of sharing, encounters and friendships, the many languages spoken within our community, and the dedicated support provided by teachers.

Through their acting, body expression, singing, and stage presence, the students captivated their audience from beginning to end. Their enjoyment of performing together, their commitment, and their confidence made this production a truly collective success.

A huge congratulations to the CM2B students for this outstanding performance, and our warmest thanks to Delphine Dutertre and Julien Colombet, theatre instructor, for their passionate guidance throughout this wonderful project. It will undoubtedly remain one of the highlights of the Lycée Français de Vienne’s 80th anniversary celebrations, alongside many other remarkable performances.
