Rencontre littéraire

The pupils of Class 3e1 met Philippe Claudel to discuss his novel *La Petite Fille de Monsieur Linh*, and to talk about the writing profession and the process of creating a work of literature.

Participants in the Prix littéraire des collégiens and the Prix Littéraire des lycées d’Europe (PLE) were able to talk to the author not only about his work as a writer but also about his role as president of the Académie Goncourt and as a judge for the Prix Goncourt. This was a particularly valuable discussion for these pupils, who are currently reading a selection of books and will be voting for their favourite at the end of the year.

As part of the Austrian Goncourt Prize, a delegation of PLE students then attended the deliberations in the presence of Philippe Claudel at the French Embassy. As privileged observers, they were able to go behind the scenes of a major literary prize. Enriching literary experiences for our students!
