LFV pupils at the EANM Annual Congress
Class 2nde3 at the EANM Annual Congress
On Monday 19 October, our Seconde 3 pupils had the unique opportunity to visit the Annual Congress of the European Association of Nuclear Medicine (EANM), which is being held in Vienna at the Austria Center Vienna from 17 to 21 October 2026. As part of their ‘Science Day’ excursion, this immersive experience gave them a taste of a scientific event on an international scale. At the heart of the event:
A glimpse into cutting-edge research – The pupils were able to appreciate the scale of a major medical congress bringing together researchers, clinicians and industry representatives from around the world.
An introduction to nuclear medicine – They discovered practical and innovative applications of the discipline, ranging from precision molecular imaging (such as Positron Emission Tomography – PET) to targeted radiopharmaceutical therapies (theranostics) that are revolutionising the diagnosis and treatment of numerous conditions (particularly in oncology and cardiology).
A bridge between school and science – This educational trip brought to life the concepts of physics, chemistry and biology studied in the classroom, whilst perhaps inspiring future careers in science.
European Association Nuclear Medicine - EANM
EANM is the largest non-profit medical organisation dedicated to nuclear medicine in Europe. Since its establishment in 1985, EANM has consistently aimed to provide an interactive platform for the sharing and discussion of cutting-edge developments in the field.
EANM brings together nuclear medicine professionals from a range of medical specialties. EANM also collaborates with 40 European nuclear medicine national societies, 20 non-European affiliated societies, EU institutions, international bodies, industry, and other medical societies to enhance patient care through the transformative potential of nuclear medicine.
