A Prize at the 2026 Kamishibaïs Contest
A wonderful recognition for multilingualism at the Lycée Français de Vienne!
As part of the multilingual kamishibai competition organized by the ZECO – Central and Eastern Europe zone – and the Dulala association, students from the Lycée Français de Vienne stood out by winning the Jury’s Special Prize in the 11-15 age category.
This international competition invites participating classes to imagine and illustrate a multilingual kamishibai—a Japanese form of illustrated storytelling that combines oral narration, images, and multiple languages—around the theme: "When I close my eyes...". A true invitation to creativity, it highlights the linguistic and cultural diversity of the students while developing their skills in expression, listening, cooperation, and openness to languages.
Thanks to the remarkable commitment of Ms. Rima KALOT, Arabic language teacher, and the talent of her students, the LFV managed to captivate the jury with an original, sensitive, and deeply multilingual creation. This distinction shines a light on the cultural richness of our school community and fully embodies the values upheld by our institution: openness, cultural dialogue, and the valorization of all languages.
We extend our warmest congratulations to the students and to Ms. Kalot for this magnificent achievement, of which the entire Lycée Français de Vienne community can be proud.
