Celebrating the diversity of spoken languages (50) at LFV

Multilingualism is lived out to the full every day of the year at LFV. Our pupils speak 47 different languages in addition to French, German and English! A wonderful chorus of voices rings out at break times.

As such, the Day of Languages is always a highlight, a time of pride and sharing.

The Little Prince arrives on the LFV planet

Published in over six hundred different languages and dialects, Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s *The Little Prince* is the most translated book in the world after the Bible. Transcending cultural, linguistic and national differences, it has been bringing children from all over the world together and inspiring their imaginations for over 80 years. It is only natural that we should include it in our programme of multilingual celebrations.

The Little Prince will therefore be with us throughout the school year – and will take centre stage at events in our libraries.

And to kick things off this Monday, 28 September, we’ll have quotes from The Little Prince in the languages spoken by our pupils announced over the PA system throughout the school, a quiz sponsored by HIRSCH soaps, and plenty of other surprises. Watch this space.
